Can you believe it’s August already?! Summer seems to fly by so fast, but on the bright side, we still have one month left to enjoy it!
The biggest thing happening this month is our Brewery Olympics! An opportunity for breweries around Wisconsin to compete in a friendly competition for some bragging rights and cheesy medals. We are in search of a few Lazy Monk friends to join our team as well. Please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested! Or, if you would like to put together your own team, we have room for two more groups!
Get an opportunity to taste biers from all the visiting breweries! The amazing Hickory Kist BBQ will also be here serving up delicious grilled chicken, barbecue ribs, and corn on the cob! Can you feel your stomach growling already?
After the closing ceremony, we will have LIVE MUSIC in our bier hall by the incredibly talented Sue Orfield and Catya! Mark your calendars, you won’t want to miss out! Saturday, August 18th 3-9pm!
Mug Club 2018
Our 2018-2019 Mug Club Membership is now open to new members! Come on down and sign up today to start reaping awesome benefits! Talk to a bartender and he/she will get you squared away!
In the Brewhouse
Our first batch of Oktoberfest this year is now on tap and available for you! Our tap lines will be doing a seasonal change in the next couple of months. Bier de Garde, Vienna, and CitraHefeweizen will be migrating for the winter, and we will see the return of the Rye IPA!
For those who love IPAs and those who don’t, this is the bier that brings them together. It is a dark golden color with a bouquet of piney hops and earthy aroma. The first sip will hit your palette with lots pine and a small amount of citrus; before the hop becomes too much, the rye takes over and allows for an earthy spice finish.
New to our line up this fall will be the Harvest Rye Ale. This delicious and classic Roggenbier style will have a grainy and spicy flavor to it, with a cloudy (or “turbid” if you want to use the fancy bier word) amber look as it’s an unfiltered bier. It’s a timeless bier that will delight your taste buds and have you embracing the fall season.
Wednesday, August 8th
This will be our last Cultural Food Night and tonight’s menu will feature the flavors of Venezuelan. Join us and Forage Kitchens as we round out our travels around the world. Serving from 5-7pm.
Have you gotten a chance to take our brewery tour yet? If not, you should! They have been a huge hit with lots of humorous stories throughout the experience and chances to touch and taste several aspects of the brewing process. Our next tour is Saturday, August 11th at 1pm for $10/person which includes bier samplings! Sign up today by sending us an email at email@example.com
